If Blogger cooperates and decides to do what I ask, by the time you read this I will be getting ready to have surgery.  Don't freak out.  It's just minor surgery.  But, still.  I've never been put to sleep before and the thought of it makes me a little anxious.  So, I've been trying not to think about it. 

Hopefully, I will be back to (almost) normal in a few days, although maybe a little loopy from pain pills.  When all is well I will be sure to give you an update.  And if curiosity is just killing you, let's just say that we are doing a little bit of exploring to see what's up with my girl parts. 

Say a little prayer for me if you will.  And I'll see you all on the flip side.

A random fantasy for Friday/Saturday.
I have adored this guy's look from the moment I ran across the top pic many moons ago.  I don't even remember where it came from.  But I still dig it.

I found the watch on Pinterest last week and I think it's one of the coolest things I have ever seen.  A wooden watch.  I am a watch person.  And this watch is begging to be on my wrist.

And how great is that last shot?  Hot apple cider and pumpkin spice doughnuts.  (at least, that's what I'm pretending it is.)  There are always masses of amazing things over on Modern Hepburn, where this pic came from.

I don't think this requires a whole lot of explaining.  Beautiful pool.  Sunshine.  Water.  Total relaxation.  This is the Capella Ixtapa Resort in Mexico.

Looks like the perfect place to spend a week.  Or a month.
I'll meet you on the deck for dinner!

I never get tired of seeing such beautiful places, even if it is just in pictures.  I guess that's why I call these posts Friday Fantasy instead of Friday Reality.  But some of these places speak to me in a more personal way than others and this is one of those.  Sometimes it's more of a feeling than anything that draws us to something.  And the feeling I get when I look at this picture is indescribable.  It's akin to homesickness and a yearning for the unknown.  Odd combination, yes, but I never claimed to make any sense of it.  Just to share it with you.

Ahhhh, Friday.  Not much different from any other day around here.  Haha. 

The temperatures took a nose dive this week, here in the mountains.  The warm air that we were getting used to turned bitter cold and frost has curled the most delicate blooms that were confidently basking in the spring sunshine.  I am hoping and wishing for the warmth to return.  And while I'm waiting, this perfect pink patio is reeling me in with it's enchanting ways.  I'm feeling particularly girly and the classic combo of pink, green, and white is proving very appealing right now. 

I can just feel my bare feet against the warm brick pavers.  Now, if I only knew how to use that surfboard.

For those interested in what has been grilling my brain this week, here it is.  I have been studying to take the exam to get my contractor's license.  I went to an eight hour seminar Monday, and let me just tell you, information overload is an understatement.  I have been nose down in a pile of eighteen books that I have to be quite familiar with before the exam.  Eighteen books! They range from business to excavation to steel beam construction. 

As most of you have already figured out, I have been working for my brother's construction company since I quit my job last year.  It's been on and off.  Nothing full-time or very consistent.  But hopefully that is going to change.  I'll let you know more about that situation as it unfolds.  But, for now, I have to keep my nose to the grind to try to earn my contractor's license.

Friday Fantasy

Honestly, I really can't even believe that it's Friday already. It seems like it was just Friday yesterday. And let's not mention that February is over! Hello, March. It has been a hectic week here in my world. Please forgive me for being too distracted to blog.

As far as fantasies go for this Friday, this one is exactly what I need. I big field full of stress reducing, relaxing, beautiful lavender. I can just feel the warm sun on my skin and smell the heavenly aroma in my nose.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend ahead of you. I'm hoping for a little chill time, myself.

Friday Fantasy

It may only be February, but there has been a definite feeling of spring in the air. And I am craving the smell of wet dirt and frilly flowers and the sound of birds chirping. So....today's fantasy is a little bit different from the norm. Today we dream of cherry blossoms.


So delicate and beautiful. Nothing says spring quite like the frilly blossoms of a cherry tree.

I am headed to Atlanta for the weekend. Supercross at the Georgia Dome, of course. So, hopefully I will see you back here next week with another Counting Pennies post and an update on my business goals.

Today's fantasy is a tiny little sampling of beauty from my new favorite tumblr, Turquoise Coconut. It's like an endless summer up in that place! Chock full of beautiful landscapes, yummy looking foods, adorably cool surfer girls and massively cute guys. I could stay there all day, just dreaming away.

Friday Fantasy

Care to join me in Italy?
Could you imagine spending a month living in this villa? Swimming in that gorgeous pool? Dining alfresco with that amazing view? I'm pretty sure that I would never want to leave.
I can only imagine what it would be like. I wonder if the people who live in places like this realize how lucky they are.

I may not ever get to stay in an Italian villa in real life, but I can fantasize. So.....dinner will be served at 7ish. We'll have tons of great food and boisterous conversation. Our skin will be sun-kissed from spending the day in the pool. And the scent of lavender will carry us off to dream when we finally retire for the day.

Hope your week has been good and that your weekend will be even better.
