My Feet Are Cold
It is cold. Very cold. They have been calling for snow all day. But I think its so cold down here that the snowflakes don't even want to venture down to say hello. I'm drinking coffee. I hate coffee. (and just to let you in on a little secret.... its kinda got me wired. I'm immune to tea, but apparently not coffee.) Anywho. Just thought I would share this very cold looking picture I took this morning while writing an estimate. Wherever you are, I hope you are warm.

They Say It Smells Like Paint In Here.
I should really be doing something else, but I'm not. I'm skipping in between ordering parts and doing estimates and reading blogs and figuring bills and checking Etsy. Oh. And playing with the camera. In case you're wondering, I work in a body shop. Collision repair facility, if you want to be all proper about it. Wednesdays are usually pretty slow around here. Apparently, everyone decided to come get estimates yesterday while it was snowing. I guess they knew how much I love writing estimates when it is so cold that my fingers feel like they are going to break.
Enough whining. I was just thinking of something and thought I would share it before I forgot it. When I first started working here (almost 6 years ago) I made fun of the guys that work here because they couldn't remember anything. I mean, ANYTHING. And now, six years down the road, I am in the same boat. I can't remember who has called, what parts I've ordered, who has paid and who we owe. I have to write everything down. EVERYTHING. But at least we think we know what is causing this crazy loss of memory. Fumes.
At least once a week someone will walk into this office (well, we call it an office anyway) and proclaim "How do you stand that smell!?!". To which we all reply "What smell?". We have all been smelling the paint/primer/body filler/chemical fumes for so long that we can no longer actually smell them. And it is popular belief that this is the exact reason that we can also no longer remember what we had for lunch yesterday.
So, when I get lag on posting on my blog, please forgive me. Sometimes I forget I have one.

Here's the Plan

how sweet it is
Today is my birthday. And what a beautiful day it is to be adding a year to my age. The sky is a brilliant blue and the sun is shining. Most of the leaves have fallen from the trees, but its still a gorgeous day. I'm looking forward to having dinner with my family. Mom always cooks whatever we want for our birthdays. So tonight I will be having spinach stuffed chicken, carrots, mashed potatoes and chocolate bread pudding for dessert.
The card above is from my great friend M. If you can't read it clearly, it says "A constant friend is a thing rare and hard to find". I have found over the years that this is very true. But thankfully there are a few out there. I am blessed to have a few myself. I am also blessed to have a wonderful husband who spent way more money than he should have on a really special birthday present for me. The future may be uncertain and the economy may be faltering, but I thank my Lord for His wonderful blessings and all the love that I receive each day.
My cup of love runneth over right now. So I'm sending it out to all of you (or any of you who may actually run across this). I hope your heart is warmed with love this day.
