Remember me?

Yeah, I haven't been around this week. One of those, you know? No time. What happens to time when you get past 25? It seems like you start losing hours from then on. It's crazy.

It's snowing again here. Again. I had been weathering pretty well. Dealing with it. But we had just a touch of sunshine and warmth this past weekend and it may have made things worse. Now I'm getting restless for warmth.

And then.... there were these pictures from the Sartorialist. And I wanted to cry.

Not only because the beautiful people of Rio all have perfect skin and bodies. But also because they are basking in the most fabulous sunshine, in the most fabulous pool, looking at the most fabulous scenery. My heart is breaking.
Being that I probably won't have any time to post tomorrow either, I hope you have a happy weekend. Love to you all.

Zeelicious!

My, my. The sun is finally shining today. There is blue up above. And we just had a big birthday dinner for my dad. All is well.

Its the perfect time to share with you the work of photographer Zee Longenecker.

This teacup image was on the font page of Etsy. The moment I saw it I knew I had to see what else was in her store. And Wow! what a store. Zee is no one shot wonder. She is an incredible talent with an eye for color and light.

Don't these photos make you smile? I especially love the heart drawn in sprinkles. (Sprinkles are always one of my favorite things.)
Zee was generous enough to let me post some of her pics for you to see. Please take a few moments and visit her store. You'll find gorgeous shots of spring blooms, technicolor carnival pics and much more.
*Happy Sunday, dolls.*

Locks of Love

Let me just say, I don't know how you long haired girls do it.

Ok. So, my hair is long right now. As it has been many times in my life. (down to my booty as a little girl) But ever since I cut all of my hair off in middle school I have found it very difficult to stick with long hair. Don't get me wrong. Its all a love/hate thing with my hair. I cut it off. Then I grow it back. Then I cut if off again. Thankfully, it grows at a crazy fast speed. I love both extremes. Very short. Or very long. I hate the in between process.

Right now, my hair is several inches past my shoulders. Just now getting into its prime.

AND IT IS DRIVING ME CRAZY.

Oddly enough, I don't have the desire to cut it.......... yet. But I do find myself toting around a pair of scissors like a mad woman, just waiting for the next split end to come into my range of view. And then there's this whole thing about just wanting to pull it up into a ponytail. What is the point in having long hair if you just keep it pulled up all the time? Oh my gosh, and fixing it!?! Being that the texture just keeps changing (sometimes straight, sometimes wavy, sometimes kinky curly) it takes f o r e v e r to get my hair to behave.

I see all these pictures of girls with gorgeous long hair and I really want to stick it out this time. But, gees-o-peet, this just gets harder the older I get. So please. Help me. Give me advice. Tell me how you keep your locks lovely. Tell me how to love my long hair! Tell me I am not alone in this battle. TELL ME!

Hello, Sweetheart

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day. And I wish I could send each and every one of you a little valentine and a bag of candy. But I can't. So I will share with you something just as sweet. A few pics from the Blumarine runway.

I am in love with the bright colors and tie dye. (They make tie dye look so chic.) And, in case you haven't spotted their magazine ads, please check out those piles of chunky, bright skulls and roses rings on their fingers! I really want to rock this look.

I have to say that the runway looks a little scary to walk on. But I would be willing to try it for a pair of those shoes in the last pic. (Like I mentioned before...; I am a child of the 80s.)
I hope you have a super sweet Valentine's Day. Make sure to hug someone. Even if its a stranger. Everyone needs a hug now and then. Especially on Valentine's Day.
Love to you all
XOXOXOX ~Jo~ XOXOXOX

Losing a Legend

Mr. Alexander McQueen,

Thank you for gracing us with your amazing creations. Thank you for sharing with us your resonating imagination.

You will be missed.

* I am quite shocked and saddened by the news of McQueen's death. It has been labeled a suicide, which is always a lonely way to go. It just seems so unfitting, you know? The fashion world will hang its head low today. They have lost a great talent.

Color Conquest

With the color forecast calling for more white in my area (snow, again), my tired eyes just keep seeking out super saturated color bombs.

Being a child of the 80s, my love for crazy fluorescent neon runs deep. Ever since my mom made a few pairs of neon yellow and watermelon pink leggings for me when I was little, highlighter colors have been a glowing bright spot in my psyche. (I still buy glowsticks by the dozens.)

The current trend embraces pops of fluorescent in small doses. Neon nails. Hot pink lips. An acid green belt or electric blue shoes. How about a shot of toxic yellow dangling from your ears? A flourish of neon orange peeking from behind sweet white scallops? These are the designs of Conquest Jewellery.

Yes, I know that gold is not classified as neon, but hello, how could I not share that with you? Don't those colors look just amazing against her gorgeous skin?
Conquest is definite eye candy at its best. But like most eye candy, it comes at a steep price. But it never hurts to look, right?

Snippets

Last week was a long one. The weather has been relentless. Work has been stressful. Life, in general, was pretty tough last week. But tomorrow we get another chance at a new week. Another chance to try it again. Let's hope it turns out well.

Since I have been so busy and my posts have been lacking, I figured I would take today and share a few more of my little collages with you. These are my own little personal inspiration boards. I keep them in a book that I made when I was in high school! I know the photos aren't the greatest, but hopefully you can get the feel of them. I can't give credit for any photos used in my collages. The images have been collected over many years and then they get put together when the time is right. Hope you enjoy.

~Hope your week is a great one.~

Shine

Today the world outside my window is covered in a thick layer of ice. Last Friday brought snow, followed by just enough sun to start melting it, followed by a drizzle of rain, followed by freezing temperatures, which has resulted in the current ice storm we are experiencing now. It seems like this winter is never going to end.

I am, however, determined to stay optimistic! And what better way to do that than with massive doses of color? My inspiration comes from an interior makeover that I saw on Design Sponge a while back. I don't remember what the before shot looked like. I just know that this bright, airy space is full of happy colors, shapes and textures. And look at those dining chairs!

One of the colors that I love is the cool aqua blue, which sort of grounds the space and makes it feel peaceful instead of psychedelic. A touch of zen on your hand? Try this gorgeous ring from One Garnet Girl. I had seen this ring before and my mind just kept wanting to tie its image with the one above.

Then, of course, any time I am needing a color fix I head over to Pretty Lil Things. So vibrant! You can find a darling little doll face clutch to match just about any hue mood. Is that not the cutest thing ever?

Wherever you are; warm or cold, sunny or rainy, I hope you are safe and warm and smiling. Happy Tuesday all.
